Our Mission:

We are a nonprofit society serving the Gastown and Hastings Crossing areas of Vancouver. Our mission is to build a safer, more connected, and inclusive community through outreach, education, and volunteer engagement. In partnership with the Vancouver Police Department and local service providers, we work to prevent crime, promote safety, and support all residents.

Our mandate is to operate a community policing centre that delivers information and referral services, volunteer patrols, road safety education, and community-based initiatives including outreach, education, and cleanups.

Why We Were Established:

GHXCPC was created in response to urgent safety concerns in Gastown and Hastings Crossing—neighbourhoods facing overlapping challenges related to poverty, displacement, and urban change. The Centre was founded to strengthen public trust, fill service gaps, and provide a safe, welcoming space where residents can access support and contribute to local safety efforts.

Through volunteer-led programs, coordination with the Vancouver Police Department, and collaboration with local service providers, GHXCPC brings grassroots energy to community policing. Our goal is to reduce harm, build relationships, and empower residents to take part in creating a safer and more resilient neighbourhood.
