Join the GHXCPC as we partner with the Downtown East Side Community Response Network in hosting a Community Connections walk focused on social connection, light activity, and learning about supports for older adults in our community.
The event will begin with a short presentation from a representative of the broader BC CRN network, covering topics related to abuse, neglect, and self-neglect, as well as safety and community connection.
Following the presentation, participants will join a relaxed group walk to CRAB Park. The route is approximately 2.5 km with rest stops along the way at Maple Tree Square and Wendy Poole Park.
At CRAB Park, the group will pause for refreshments and a social break before returning or concluding the event.
This is a gentle, social walk designed for conversation and community connection. All levels of physical fitness are welcome.
Please wear comfortable shoes, dress for the weather, and bring a water bottle. In the event of poor weather, the program will shift to an indoor Community Connections Café with refreshments and guided conversation activities.
Tea, coffee, and light refreshments will be provided.
