Neighbourhood Together: Connecting Around Mental Health
Join us in the Woodward’s Atrium as we launch our Neighbourhood Together series. For this event, we will be partnering with Vancouver Coastal Health (Community Engagement Team and Mental Health and Substance Use Team), Nesters and Lookout Housing and Health Society to talk about strategies to navigate mental health and wellness, share information on mental health resources in the community, and discuss the importance of building connections and checking in on others.

The GHXCPC hosts biweekly community clean-ups on the first and third Saturday of the month, to support neighbourhood well-being and maintain safe, welcoming public spaces. As an added bonus, socializing with others and being outdoors has proven health benefits!
All are welcome and equipment is provided.

Naloxone Training Workshop
Sign up for the June GHXCPC naloxone training workshop, where we will discuss the signs of stimulant and depressant overdose, risk assessment, and intervention steps.
Participants will gain hands-on practice using practice injectable kits and one naloxone kit will be given to participants to take home for any future overdose emergencies they may encounter.

Seniors Wellness Social
The GHXCPC is excited to partner with Seniors First BC to host our Seniors Wellness Social. This month’s focus is on mental health and creativity.
We invite participants to tap into their creative sides to paint terra cotta plant pots! Each participant will go home with a painted pot, soil, and some flower seeds to celebrate the renewal of spring and new possibilities.

Bike to Work Day Event
Stop by our tent at Maple Tree Square where we’ll be partnering with 529 Garage to provide bike owners the chance to add their bikes to the 529 Garage national registry. Registrants will also be given a free ($2 elsewhere) 529 Shield sticker to place on their bikes to warn would-be thieves!
Staff and volunteers will also be discussing best practices to prevent bike theft and other relevant topics such as pedestrian safety.
Free personal reflectors will also be available!
