Supporting Community at Lotus Light’s 9th Annual Community Caring Day

The Gastown Hastings Crossing Community Policing Centre (GHX CPC) joined local partners and neighbours at the 9th Annual Community Caring Day, hosted by the Lotus Light Charity Society.

Earlier this summer, the Gastown Hastings Crossing Community Policing Centre (GHX CPC) joined local partners and neighbours at the 9th Annual Community Caring Day, hosted by the Lotus Light Charity Society.

The event brought together hundreds of community members in the Downtown Eastside, offering essential items like fresh produce, care kits, cold drinks, and hot meals. Our team was glad to take part — helping hand out supplies, connecting with residents, and contributing to a welcoming and respectful space for everyone who stopped by.

We were joined by several other CPCs from across Vancouver, along with youth groups and volunteers from all walks of life. These kinds of gatherings are a reminder of what’s possible when people work together with care and purpose — and how simple acts of support can go a long way.

Thank you to the Lotus Light Charity Society for bringing people together and to everyone who took the time to say hello, lend a hand, or share a conversation.
